About This Image -It is said that a jalopy might have been a great car at one time, but it has seen better days. I know this one was. Found it a few years ago still being admired at a gathering of stock car drivers in Keokuk, IA. They had come together for a weekend of stories, awards, and to honor the men who helped to make that city nationally known as the Home of the Racing Champions. The names Ernie Derr, Don White, Gordon Blankenship, Ron Hutcherson, Dick Hutcherson, and Ramo Stott were a few I remember who were spoken of with reverence. Must have been quite a time. I can’t make out the exact name carved on this car’s door, but I’ll bet someone can..
